Strengths: 1)Easy to setup 2) Great colors 3) Networkable 4) Great price
Weaknesses: None so far
Overall Evaluation: My HP all-in-one would constantly jam, what good is a multi machine if it constantly jams? So with a little tax money coming my way I figured it was a good time to research and purchase a new all-in-one. Thus far this one has lived up to its ratings and reviews, I really like how easy it was to setup. The networking was a key feature for me and it was easy to configure, I have three PC?s in the house all networked to it. If there was one complaint it would be the software that came with it will install a whole bunch of extra software you don?t need, but most software tries to do that, make sure you go thru the custom install. Testing of the photo printing went very well, Canon always seems to rate well in this area. Considering I purchased this machine on-sale with an additional 10% off the price was great. For the price this is the best all-in-one machine out there.

Strengths: FAST BEAUTIFUL CLEAR CRISP PRINT, COPIER WORKS GREAT, LOVE THE STYLE AND COLOR, EASY TO SET UP!
Weaknesses: DOES NOT PRINT DOUBLE SIDED, THE LID ON SCANNER SEEMS A TAD FLIMSY, FIND THE MENU HARDER TO NAVIGATE THAN OTHERS.
Overall Evaluation: I BOUGHT THIS BECAUSE OF THE NAME CANON, THE RATINGS AND THE SLEEK DESIGN, IT WORKS GREAT WITH MY DIGITAL REBEL CAMERA, PICTURES ARE BEAUTIFUL, COLORS ARE AWESOME, GREAT ALL IN ONE AND THE PRICE IS SO RIGHT.....COMPARED TO OTHER ALL IN ONE, I PURCHASED THIS FOR ONE THIRD THE PRICE OF AN HP WHICH CONSTANTLY GAVE ME PROBLEMS FROM THE BEGINNING..THE SET UP WAS SO EASY AND IT DOES NOT TAKE A LOT OF SPACE, GREAT MACHINE, GREAT REPUTATION AND FANTASTIC PRICE, ONE OF THE BEST OUT THERE! I LOVE IT!!!!

Strengths: Text printing; scanning; good setup documentation
Weaknesses: No auto duplexing
Overall Evaluation: Setup is straight-forward if you follow the step-by-step installation sheet provided with the printer. (Comes with a Quick Start Guide manual, as well as a Network Setup Guide manual for use with a network.) Prints very crisp text. Very sharp scans. Printed a Google map with reasonable results. Have not tried printing photos yet, but intend to report back after doing so. Currently printing via USB, but plan to network it; will report how that goes. The printer driver dialog box (appears when you click the "Properties" button in the Print dialog box) is comprehensive and easy to select the options you want. There is no auto duplexing; however, after selecting duplexing, and printing side 1, a dialog box pops up that shows you what to do to print the other side. This is really nice since it takes the guess-work out of how and where to insert the paper. This is my first inkjet printer, so I have no prior inkjet experience to compare to.

Strengths: Great printer for printing everyday documents AND moderately graphic-heavy pages.
Weaknesses: It takes a little while printing PDFs for some reason, I can't figure out why. Also it is a BIT bulky as multifunctions go, but its worth the size for its functions and quality.
Overall Evaluation: Great all-in-one for those looking for a general printer to use in their home office. It has great canon quality and abilities. A wonderful printer, especially for the price.

Strengths: Easy setup, Software Installation, Card-Reader, Auto-Doc Feeder (which adds legal size to scan ability)
Weaknesses: No USB cable needed for initial system configuration, No manual config for finding networked printer
Overall Evaluation: I've been waiting for an AIO that everyone (experts and users) give high marks. This one is the one. This is my first Canon and, more specifically, non-HP printer. I'm thrilled with it. I can now get rid of my Scanjet and Inkjet and have just one system.Know this ... the initial setup requires a USB connection. So, keep that USB cable you have on your existing printer and don't sell it with your printer on eBay 'til you've set this system up. Once it's set up via USB, you can then set it up for networked access completely and exclusively. Also, you may get a wireless laptop that cannot locate any printers during the secondary system software installation process. Just keep retrying - as the configurator does not ask if you, perhaps, know the IP address of this system. It seems to have to find the unit on its own in its own fashion. If anything, get your wireless system closer to the router/access-point for faster network recognition - which is what seemed to help me.Anyway, I'm thrilled with the setup, the product and the reduction of clutter from my home office.

Strengths: It's surprisingly quiet and fast, and the printing software is working without a hitch on our Macs. Photos even on plain paper are looking very good!
Weaknesses: Doesn't seem to be networkable, but we can easily share it while it's hooked up to one computer via USB. No faxing from the computer?
Overall Evaluation: We've been frustrated with inkjets dying after a year or so--the problem MAY be that we don't use them much (we normally use our b/w laser for most prints) and the ink clogs somewhere in the machine. And of course it always costs more to fix them than to replace--grrrr. We're trying Canon, a new brand for us, and so far this moderately-priced unit is the nicest we've used at any price. We plan to set up a script to print out a full-color photo weekly on this machine, in the hope of avoiding the previous problems. I'd rather use a little extra ink than recycle another printer!Hookup was simple, and (unlike some other brands)so far it seems to work perfectly with our Macs. I'm impressed by the quality of photo prints just on plain paper; we haven't even used any photo paper yet. These color prints are much better than I've seen with previous machines. The machine is quieter than I'm used to, and the color prints are faster. So far, we have used the ADF, fax and copy functions and color printing, but haven't gotten into anything fancy. The controls are easy to use and the display is bright and tilts so that it's easy to see.

Strengths: Fast, colorful, easy to use, and relatively cheap (next to anything that'd come close to it). Brother had some printers on sale lately, but I'm very happy I researched the MX700 on cnet.com and got it
Weaknesses: If you don't already have a network set up, you'll need a USB printer cable for this printer. Costs about $2: http://www.pricegrabber.com/user_sales_getprod.php?masterid=8057624&lot_id=6005779
Overall Evaluation: So far, the MX700 has the best bang for the buck, is solid state as they come, and vibrant colors at a decent speed. You may have to spend twice this much to get a better all-in-one, even when shopping around. Get rid of your fax, scanner, copier, and printer, and get this puppy!
