HP OfficeJet 7210 All-In-One Review

- The HP OfficeJet 7210 All-In-One crams everything you could want from a home- or small-office MFP into a single unit that costs $300.

User Reviews for HP Officejet 7210 ALL-IN-ONE

    Duration of ownership: 22 Months

Strengths: As the article says, it has it all with the printer, fax, copier, and scanner. The network connection is a great plus. The software is easy to use.

Weaknesses: The document feed is junk. I have had more faxes jam in the take up as well as trying to copy or scan multiple pages. I had to take that apart several times to make it work. the mechanism is to light and fragile in design. In usual HP reliability, it died at 22 months. All lights flashing upon turning it on, and of course, warranty is gone. Just like the OfficeJet G85 I had, it runs about 2 years and dies. These are nothing like the old HP LaserJets that were the workhorse of the document world. This is probably the last HP I will own.

Overall Evaluation: I doubt I ever own another HP based on how this one died at 22 months for no reason. G85 - fool me once. 7210 - fool me twice. Cost to fix? More than to buy a new and better printer. HP's recomendation? They will upgrade me to a 7310 for only $299. The problem is that the 7310 has equally bad reviews on it. http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/printers/m/4215713/discussions/ Consider any HP equipment you buy to be temporary disposable equipment to use for the warranty period only. If you are expecting long lasting equipment, that HP is long gone.
