Duration of ownership: 3 Weeks
Strengths: Fast and Simple and other P2P programs can be found by using it.
Weaknesses: No anonymous searching, easily tracked, random pop ups, installer includes spyware, well-known for having viruses. All in all not worth the time to even read this review
Overall Evaluation: You can simply pass right over this. There are much better P2P programs that are simply ALOT better than this program can even conceive.

Strengths: The free version of Bearshare is ok. I download the occasional movie with it. I unfortunatly just signed up and paid $20 to update to Bearflix pro. Big Mistake
Weaknesses: Everything, at least for me. And, I have tried to write to the company for help, and its been over a year and I haven't received a reply yet.
Overall Evaluation: I am not a big computer wiz. I would rate myself as your average downloader. The free version of Bearflix is much better than the Pro version. With pro, every movie I search for, I only end up getting porn results. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Hopefully I can get mine back!

Strengths: None. This is the first time in almost 20 years of listening to PC Worlds recommendations that they have steered me wrong. Stay away from this product.
Weaknesses: Totally messed my computer up. Had to reinstall Real Player and several IM programs including Yahoo. Days later I am still finding programs that Bear Share messed up and I am having to reinstall. Never did find the main stream songs I was looking for, and the fact I couldn't download to my computer really sucked. I am not familiar with these programs I will admit, but if they are all this bad it's a wonder that anybody uses them at all.
Overall Evaluation: Really, really sucks. Run, do not walk away from this program. Be afraid, be very, very afraid. This program wants to eat your computer for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Strengths: Fast and Simple, I love Bearshare Lite
Weaknesses: Bearshare is packed to the brim with spyware and adware, both like to crash when I go to exit the program.
Overall Evaluation: PCWorld: www.bearshare.com is the location for the installer, you reviewed a different program. Bearshare is free, Bearshare Pro has a one-time fee, not a subscription.

Strengths:
Weaknesses: Crashes, installs additional programs and browser toolbars.
Overall Evaluation: Dont waste your time like I did. Windows Defender went crazy during install. Than it wouldnt start up. Kept "encountering a problem" and shutting down, even after restarts. Than it installs something called Zongo? Also a toolbar from "myglobalsearch" in my Firefox. I dont know how this made it onto PC World.com
