Strengths: Fairly simple interface. Highly confirgurable.
Weaknesses: Does not 'play nice' with my router.
Overall Evaluation: I have mixed feelings about this program. Although it was failrly easy to configure, it was a nightmare trying to access my router's webpage. Even after shutting down the firewall, I had to completely uninstall the program before I could change my router's settings. So...if you use a direct connection, this could be a good firewall program for you. If you have a router however, you may be better off with something else.

Duration of ownership: 6 Months
Strengths: none
Weaknesses: I bought for about $20.00 their A/V only. That was all I wanted. I bought 6.X. When they put out 7.x and told us to come get a free upgrade, they gave us the whole suite, which rapidly ground my computer to a halt, checking every file upon launch. I ditched it for A/V 7.5 free, and have had no more hassles.
Overall Evaluation: It's my computer. If all I want to install is the A/V, then that's it, and leave me alone.

Strengths:
Weaknesses: Installation program is incompatible with CA Antivirus and requires you to delete the antivirus program before it can install Zone Alarm. Then you cannot reinstall CA Antivirus because it requires you to delete Zone Alarm.
Overall Evaluation: Zone Alarm is useless if you own CA Antivirus 2007.

Strengths: Worked for a while - but requires much effort
Weaknesses: Poor user help, uninstall only partially works, could not reinstall, Promises rebate but 10 months later no money.
Overall Evaluation: Took a long time to set up a shared internet connection requiring much searching of the blogs. Would not stop trying to update with auto update turned off. Causes your machine to take a long time to boot. Uninstall does not clean all information off of the machine. Even instructions from their tech service including registry modifications did not allow it to reinstall. Finally gave up due to spending more time than the program was worth. Incidently Norton and Mcafee only took minor intuitive changes to make internet connection sharing work. If buy with expectation of a rebate, forget it. I submitted all required rebate information over 9 months ago and still no $50. Have resent numerous times and contacted the rebate company and Zone Alarm and get nowhere.

Strengths: None
Weaknesses: Slow down your machine at the point you think the viruses are better than the Antivirus. Doesn't work with many softwares. Technical support is almost inexistent.
Overall Evaluation: I never get it fully working. The technical support never send a reply for you, even you are a registered user. Customer support act the same way. Get rid of this company. They are not prepared for the market. They don't care about your customers.

Strengths: This was a very good firewall and easy to use. .
Weaknesses: The company that owns the software is not honest about its cost.
Overall Evaluation: To my dismay, I have recommened this firewall many times to people who either can't afford expensive software or to students. I can no longer do this since it is not a free software and the company will not let customers know that in advance.

Strengths: Easy to use and flexible. You control it and the programs allowed and disallowed.Has stealth mode and lockdown features. Some talk about leaks but this firewall will not leak if it set up right in reguards to trusted progaming. It also has an auto update feature.
Weaknesses: Cannot view or list attacks but there are a few free apps. you can use to work along with this program like Visual zone and CurrPorts to solve this problem.
Overall Evaluation: In my opinion this is a superior product and it being free is fantastic.Up against 8 different firewalls I have tested this one was overall the best for my windows XP. It can be configured to run quietly with few alerts and does not slow the CPU down.ZoneAlarms' website assistance is not bad either. I plan to upgrade soon to the pro version which is I think well worth the price in comparison to similiar firewalls.Another thing, You can run this along with the windows firewall too without conflicts. Download it and test it. There are several sites you can use.One I recomend is Steve Gibsons. I usually am invisible while I surf with this firewall..COOL!!
