BlackIce PC Protection (formerly BlackIce Defender) scans and decodes individual communications packets traveling through your DSL, cable modem, or dial-up Internet connection looking for hacker activity. When it detects an attempted intrusion, it automatically blocks traffic from that source, keeping intruders from accessing your system.

BlackICE Defender not only detects and stops suspicious and hostile activity on your computer, it also collects valuable data about the intruder, such as the hacker's IP address, computer name (NetBIOS name), and hardware address (MAC address).
