Long time Macintosh utility, A Better Finder Rename, has been updated, bringing the most current version to 7.9.9. The new version adds support for UTF-16 ID3 tags in MP3 music files, according to the developer.

First developed in 1996, A Better Finder Rename gives users a comprehensive resource for renaming files. You can do a variety of operations including Add, remove, insert and replace characters and text; insert sequence numbers; create numbered lists; add file date and time; rename to date; convert file names to Windows NTFS, SMB, DOS, Mac OS 9; and perform case conversions.

A Better Finder Rename costs US$24.95 and is available from the company's Web site.
