The June 2008 issue of Macworld includes a feature article on running Windows on your Mac--and how to do it in the most efficient way possible. Continuing with that theme, this Macworld Video looks at installing virtualization programs on your Mac; I also offer some tips for optimizing your performance.
We focus on two programs: Parallels Desktop and VMware Fusion. These applications allow you to switch back and forth between Mac OS X and a Windows-based virtual machine. Apple's Boot Camp, which comes with OS X 10.5, requires you to reboot into that other operating system--for that reason, it's probably best for games as opposed to productivity apps you need to run alongside your favorite Mac programs.
